"Aguarelas saídas da casca" is a project about unpredictability, impermanence, and waste.

It uses food peels both to produce the watercolors and as the subject being drawn.

The watercolors — made solely from the cooking water of onion skins, red cabbage, and beetroot, sometimes altered by the addition of baking soda — are not permanent. The color of the wet paint is different from the dry one. The dry color shifts over time, and perhaps, one day, it will disappear entirely.

Observing and representing food peels is an attempt to find value and beauty in what is usually thrown away.

To paint and observe will always be about feeling and thinking.
